Established in 1979 in New York City, the American Association of French Speaking Health Professionals (AAFSHP) continues to provide a formal liaison for French-speaking health professionals.
The AAFSHP:

2. encourages medical education particularly between French-speaking and American health care communities
3. promotes and sponsors scientific seminars
4. publishes a directory of French-speaking specialists for professional services and health education. This list of members is not an endorsement nor a recommendation.
FRENCH-SPEAKING HEALTH PROFESSIONALS ARE INVITED TO JOIN THE AAFSHP
The AAFSHP sponsors five Dinner-Conferences a year.
These evening events feature a scientific presentation accompanied by French food and wine. The conferences are conducted in French with slides written in English. The September event starts the season with a scientific seminar. The November conference discusses Veterans issues from past and current conflicts in their cultural context; this event is announced by email only. January and April dinner conferences address current issues in science. The June GALA event ends the academic year with a psycho-social conference.
